CAVAN ASSIZES.- A man of the name of Henry Dinnery was put on his trial at the late Cavan assizes for an alleged rape committed on the body of a young girl, about 18 years of age, named Catherine Smith. After the evidence had been gone through, and the learned Judge had delivered his charge, the jury returned to consider their verdict. They, however, could not agree; and after having remained in the jury-room from the Friday on which the trial commenced, until the following Tuesday, they were brought to the verge of the county and discharged.
