At Johnstown House, Cabinteely, the residence of his brother-in-law, the
Rev. Richard Ardill, John Cronyn, Esq., of Newtown, co. Kilkenny, late of
the 7th Dragoon Guards, aged 42 years. Having been appointed Poor Law
Inspector of Ennis Union, he contracted typhus fever in the discharge of
his official duty, which, proving fatal deprived his afflicted family of a
most affectionate relation, and society of an honourable member, endeared
by estimable qualities rarely to be met with.
