We regret to learn that Mrs. Jas. Ahern, of Kerrisdale, of which place she was an old and much esteemed resident, died on the 4th instant, aged 73 years. Deceased lady, who was a native of Tipperary, Ireland, came to this country many years ago, and, with her husband and family, settled in the district named about 30 years ago. She was deservedly very highly respected, and much sympathy is felt with the bereaved husband and family. Thursday's "Yea Chronicle" says :— The deceased had only been ailing a few weeks, but her demise was not entirely unexpected when her advanced age of 73 years was taken into account. Mrs. Ahearn came to this district many years ago, and for several years was a resident of this township. The funeral, which took place on Sunday, was largely attended, the rites of the Roman Catholic Church being performed at the grave by the Rev. Father O'Reilly.
