The Lanark Era

   DIED

    In Lanark Twp, May 6th, John Stevenson, aged 74 years. His parents came from North Ireland the year he was born and settled near Boyd's. As a young man he married Ellen Ferguson of Drummond. Their marriage lasted for over fifty years until her death 24 Dec 1896. They had a family of seven children, all living; Isaiah, and Fred, in the western USA; Mary (Mrs. Jackson Willows), Ebeneezer, and Lizzie, all of Boyd's. Burial at Boyd's Cemetery.

     At the res. of Mr. John McEachan, Ramsay, Tuesday last week, Patrick Cunningham, aged 90 years. Born in Wicklow, Ireland, he lived most his life in Drummond, moving to Carleton Place twelve years ago. His wife died three years ago at the age of 80 years. The children are: Thomas; Jane (Mrs. Nolan); Ann (Mrs. Sullivan), of Dakota; Bessie, Henry; Patrick; Alicia (Mrs. Machan), of Michigan; and Teresa (Mrs. Foley), of Almonte; Patrick was shot in Montana.
