   DIED

     At Perth, Wed. last week, Thomas Cairns, Postmaster. He was a native of Tyrone City, Ireland, here he became a printer. Coming to Kingston, Ont. he married there a Miss Givens, his widow. About 1861, he and Thos. Scott started the "Perth Expositor" and he was appointed Postmaster in 1865. He leaves a family of two daughters and eight sons: Mrs. (Rev.) Jamieson, Sydenham; Mrs. Samuel Dawson, Elmsley; Thomas, Vancouver, BC; Albert, Winnipeg, Man; GEo. F., barrister, Smith Falls, Walter, barrister, Newbro; Arthur & Harry in the Post Office, Perth; Charles, Ottawa; and Herbert in Chicago. Burial in Elmwood cemetery.

     9th Conc., Drummond, on Thursday, Nathaniel McLenaghan, aged 96 years. Coming from Ireland, he married a few years ago to a Miss Morris, who survives. They held their 60th wedding anniversary on June 15th last. They had a family of thirteen children all living. Burial in Elmwood cemetery. Died Oct. 1st.
