Irish News.
Cork—There was an important meeting of the Watergrasshill branch of the League on November 4, under the presidency of Rev. T. Murphy. The following resolution was unanimously adopted. —"That we condemn in the strongest terms the savage murder of poor Patrick Ahern in the streets of Midleton by Balfour's policemen.

Mrs. Cooney was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment at Innoshannon Coercion Court for holding forcible possession of a house from which she had been evicted by T. B. Herrick of Shipool Castle.

AHERN.—On the 1st inst., at Warrnambool, Dennis, third son of Michael D. Ahern, from Newcastle West, Limerick, Ireland, aged 32 years, buried at Melbourne. R.I.P.
