THE CONDITION OF IRELAND.
At the Mallow Petty Sessions, on Tuesday, Mr. R. J. Sheehan, jun., hon. secretary to the Parnell Defence Fund in that town, was prosecuted for sending notices to Dr. Creagh and Mr. E. O'Connor, sen., solicitor, directing them, by threats and menaces, to do a certain act, namely, to subscribe to the Parnell Defence Fund. The offence was alleged to consist in the defendant having his name affixed to a printed circular which stated that the names of non-subscribers would be published, and two of these circulars were sent through the post to the gentlemen named. The cases were sent to the assizes, bail being accepted for Mr. Sheehan's appearance.
